(DETROIT – February 29, 2024) – 313 Presents, and in partnership with the National Action Network Michigan, is proud to announce its inaugural Juneteenth Celebration at the Fox Theatre on Wednesday, June 19 at 7:30 p.m. The special evening will pay tribute to the spirit of Juneteenth with featured performances by the legendary Commodores and the iconic Pointer Sisters, along with special guests the Detroit Youth Choir. Comerica Bank is the exclusive presenting partner of the Fox Theatre.

The inaugural concert is dedicated to honoring Black culture and excellence through an immersive evening. The event will commence with an opening prayer, feature a guest speaker discussing the importance of Juneteenth, and culminate with the power of music, including a special performance of “Lift Every Voice And Sing” by the Detroit Youth Choir.

In addition, 313 Presents is honored to announce that a portion of the proceeds from the Juneteenth Celebration will be allocated to local community organizations committed to the advancement and empowerment of our city.

The Detroit Youth Concert Choir & Performing Arts Company (DYC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to serving young people across the Detroit Metropolitan area. Through music education, dance, and theatrical arts, the Detroit Youth Choir nurtures and empowers students aged 8-18, providing them with a world-class performing arts experience.
With a vision to cultivate the creative skills and talents of Metro Detroit’s youth, the Detroit Youth Choir has had major accomplishments including second-place finish on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” and recently garnering attention for the docuseries “Choir” on Disney+; highlighting the organization’s invitation to perform at New York City’s Carnegie Hall. Currently, the choir is preparing for a performance at the International Children’s Festival in Nairobi, Kenya in April 2024.
