Majid Al Mohandis To Perform At The Fox Theatre July 5

Majid Al Mohandis is a renowned Saudi singer and composer widely celebrated as "the Engineer of the Arabic Song" and "Voice of Diamond." Born in Baghdad in 1971, his early life was marked by a passion for music that clashed with his parents' desires. To appease them, he studied engineering at a Baghdad university, which ultimately earned him his stage name, "Al Mohandis," meaning "the engineer" in Arabic. While pursuing his degree, he funded his musical ambitions by working as a tailor, saving up enough money to buy his first oud and diligently teaching himself to play.

After releasing his debut album Mo Bas Ahebek in 2000, he quickly cemented his status as an Arabic pop and romantic ballad superstar. Over the decades, he has released dozens of acclaimed albums, including Waheshni Moot (2005) and Shahd El Hourouf (2020).

In 2010, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia granted him Saudi citizenship, though he retains his Iraqi nationality.

He expanded his influence in the regional entertainment industry, joining the jury of the hit television show Saudi Idol in 2022 and becoming a celebrated mainstay in the MENA music streaming market.
