(DETROIT – December 13, 2019) – Metro Detroiters and passionate concertgoers from near and far helped propel the region’s world-class venues - DTE Energy Music Theatre, Little Caesars Arena and Fox Theatre to national and global renown. The concert venues, booked and promoted by 313 Presents, were among the top six nationwide for the second year in a row for their respective categories in Pollstar’s 2019 Year-End Rankings, which covered dates reported by tours and promoters from November 22, 2018 through November 20, 2019.

The highly acclaimed DTE Energy Music Theatre topped the Pollstar chart for Top 100 Amphitheatres in the world for the first time since 2010, with 598,617 in reported ticket sales. The amphitheatre’s diverse and dynamic 2019 schedule was highlighted by four multiple-date performers, the most since 2004. Among the celebrated performers, Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band performed six shows as part of his “Roll Me Away Tour” in June, while Florida Georgia Line (August 10 & 22) and Jason Aldean (September 28 & 29) each played twice to sellout crowds. This summer’s 51-show schedule also featured appearances from Chris Stapleton, Jimmy Buffett, Thomas Rhett, Train & Goo Goo Dolls, Luke Combs, Hootie & The Blowfish, Slipknot, Dave Matthews Band, Dierks Bentley and Riff Fest featuring Shinedown.

In the heart of downtown, Little Caesars Arena, which also serves as home to the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons, moved up a spot to #2 in the U.S. for Top 200 Arenas in concert ticket sales with 917,596, behind only Madison Square Garden in New York City. In addition to Mumford & Sons’ record-setting crowd on March 27 and multiple dates from Eric Church and P!nk, other event highlights included Michelle Obama’s book tour, Cher, Michael Bublé, KISS’ Final Tour, Justin Timberlake, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez, Queen + Adam Lambert, Backstreet Boys, Jonas Brothers, Post Malone, Phil Collins, Celine Dion and Tool.

One of the most iconic theaters and music venues in the world, Fox Theatre ranked #6 in the country for Top 200 Theatres with 495,297 tickets sold. In addition to the Fox Theatre Series, which features a collection of award-winning Broadway musicals, interactive stage shows and treasured holiday favorites, this past year’s schedule was highlighted by six sold-out performances from Tyler Perry’s “Madea's Farewell Play Tour” in April, as well as three sellouts from breakout rock band Greta Van Fleet. In addition, comedians Adam Sandler, Mike Epps, Sebastian Maniscalco, Tom Segura, Jim Gaffigan. Dax Shepard, Bill Maher and Joe Rogan also played to capacity crowds.

The seventh ranked theatre in the world is currently nominated for Pollstar Theatre of the Year, with the winner to be announced at the 31st Annual Pollstar Awards in Los Angeles on February 4‑6.

“We’re extremely grateful to the million-plus patrons from Metro Detroit and around the world who came to enjoy an incredible slate of live entertainment at our iconic venues this year,” said Howard Handler, President of 313 Presents. “We work relentlessly to support the diverse musical and entertainment interests of the people in the region.  We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to our partners at Live Nation along with other national and local promoters, for helping us provide the very best in diverse, world-class, live entertainment experiences, bringing extraordinary enthusiasm and excitement to Metro Detroit and benefitting our community.”
