(DETROIT – May 17, 2018) – 313 Presents kicks off its inaugural summer concert season, showcasing the music industry’s top touring acts performing at its six world-class venues – DTE Energy Music Theatre, Meadow Brook Amphitheatre, Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill, Comerica Park, Little Caesars Arena and the Fox Theatre.

“This summer’s schedule will be the most extensive in the country, providing concert-goers a diverse, unique and wide spectrum of entertainment to enjoy at outdoor amphitheatres, stadium shows, or special evenings inside Little Caesars Arena and the Fox Theatre,” said Tom Wilson, President and CEO of Olympia Entertainment and Interim President of 313 Presents. “We’d like to thank to our partners at Live Nation for partnering with us to delivering this summer’s biggest names to our world-class venues.”

The summer concert season begins Memorial Day weekend as classic rocker Eddie Money returns for his 27th consecutive year of performing at DTE Energy Music Theatre on Friday, May 25. The following day, “Hip Hop Smackdown 5!” featuring hip hop legends Eric B. & Rakim, Kool Moe Dee, EPMD, MC Lyte, Doug E. Fresh and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony perform at the Fox Theatre on Saturday, May 26. After three-and-a-half decades, thrash metal band Slayer sets out on its final tour and will open Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill with special guests Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth and Testament on Sunday, May 27.

DTE ENERGY MUSIC THEATRE – FAREWELL TOURS & CO-HEADLINE DATES HIGHLIGHT SCHEDULE

Ranked among the top amphitheatres in the world, DTE Energy Music Theatre’s 2018 schedule currently features 48 shows, highlighted by three legendary musicians who announced this year’s tours would be their last. Legendary songwriter and performer Paul Simon brings his “Homeward Bound – The Farewell Tour” on Sunday, June 10. Southern Rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd will embark on their final “Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour” with The Charlie Daniels Band, The Marshall Tucker Band and Jamey Johnson, locally presented by WCSX, on Friday, August 10. Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne celebrates more than five decades as a performer with his “No More Tours 2” with special guest Stone Sour on Wednesday, September 19.

MEADOW BROOK AMPHITHEATRE

Located on the campus of Oakland University, Meadow Brook Amphitheatre is one of the premier intimate venues in the region, and its traditional and eclectic programming will feature some of the most prestigious names in the entertainment industry as well as music’s biggest emerging stars. Grammy® nominated and 20-year-old singer/songwriter Khalid kicks the summer off at Meadow Brook Amphitheatre on Friday, June 1.

Folk icons Stephen Stills and Judy Collins will celebrate their formative love affair onstage, debut songs from their album and share warm and intimate stories from their journeys on Saturday, June 9. As part of a special 10-city solo tour, legendary The Who frontman Roger Daltrey will be performing the band’s most iconic masterpiece, the groundbreaking Tommy, featuring full orchestral backing by the acclaimed Detroit Symphony Orchestra on Thursday, July 5.

Kids will be excited to see hip-hop star Russ on June 5; The Voice’s Season 13 runner-up Addison Agen on June 15; KIDZ BOP – the #1 kids’ music brand on June 30 and Australian pop rock band 5 Seconds of Summer on September 11. Vans Warped Tour will also make its debut at Meadow Brook Amphitheatre on Friday, July 20 as the tour makes its final cross-country run.

MICHIGAN LOTTERY AMPHITHEATRE AT FREEDOM HILL

This year’s schedule at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill will feature a diverse array of the top touring acts. Following Slayer’s last tour, other artists this summer include metal rock band multi-platinum artist Post Malone on May 29, singer/songwriter Jackson Browne on June 8, Ian Anderson presenting Jethro Tull’s 50th anniversary tour on July 1, iconic music legends The Beach Boys on July 19 and blues rock group Tedeschi Trucks Band on July 21.

FOX THEATRE

Detroit’s crown jewel, the historic Fox Theatre, has played host to some of the biggest names in show business and will host Jill Scott (June 24), YES (June 30), comedian Bill Burr (July 1), Neil Young (July 3), Beck (July 6), David Blaine (July 7), Janelle Monáe (July 9), David Byrne (August 10), André Rieu (September 18) and Leon Bridges (September 25) this summer.

COMERICA PARK

The second weekend in July features eight shows at 313 Presents venues, none bigger than the stadium shows set to appear at Comerica Park. Two of the world’s greatest rock bands – Journey and Def Leppard are teaming up with special guests The Pretenders to bring their massive co-headlining North American tour on Friday, July 13. The following night, multi-platinum artists Zac Brown Band showcase “Down The Rabbit Hole Live: Zac Brown Band 2018” with very special guest OneRepublic and support from Nahko and Medicine for the People on Saturday, July 14.

VENUE HOT SPOTS FOR FOOD AND BEVERAGE

  • - The Arbor is open to all DTE patrons and is the destination for post-show drinks and food. Open an hour after the show ends, fans can enjoy DJ entertainment and late-night food favorites served alongside an assortment of beer choices and specialty cocktails.

  • - The Pine Tap Bar and Lounge is an open-air beer garden, open to all ticketholders. It sits on an expansive deck on a wooded lot, located inside DTE’s West Entrance, and can accommodate 400 people, seated and standing. With an extensive offering of more than 20 world-class craft, retro and traditional beers, a full-service bar and a menu that includes sliders, hotdogs, brats and Mexican specialties. The Mac Shack serves Union Joints’ legendary mac and cheese, pulled pork sliders and more.

  • - Honcho Outpost returns for its second season at DTE Energy Music Theatre serving up Union Joints style Latin street food. Honcho Outpost, located at the top of the stairs in the venue’s East Plaza, begins service each night when venue doors open and closes when the main act takes the stage. Menu items include Honcho Nacho, Honcho Taco and Honcho Burrito.

At Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill, concertgoers can enjoy the newly renamed MotorCity Casino Hotel VIP Club space:

  • - The MotorCity Casino Hotel VIP Club, a pre-event destination for season ticket holders, sponsors and their guests, is open to all patrons two hours after doors open to the venue. The space is also open post-show following select events and keeps the entertainment going with music, dancing and refreshments.       

NEW WALK-THROUGH SECURITY SCREENING AT MEADOW BROOK AMPHITHEATRE AND MICHIGAN LOTTERY AMPHITHEATRE AT FREEDOM HILL

Consistent with efforts to elevate fan experience, safety and security for guests visiting Meadow Brook Amphitheatre and Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill, walk-through metal detectors will now be implemented at all entrances for both venues throughout the 2018 summer concert season.

When entering the venues, fans will be asked to remove large metal objects such as cell phones, tablets, cameras and large key rings into a basket while proceeding through the metal detectors. Guests will not be asked to remove shoes, belts or change from their pockets. Additionally, walk-through metal detectors will continue to be implemented for events at DTE Energy Music Theatre, Little Caesars Arena, Fox Theatre and Comerica Park.

For some shows, tour security may further limit the number of personal items allowed inside the venue to maximize both safety and convenience for all guests visiting Meadow Brook and other 313 Presents venues.

NEW AND RETURNING SPONSORS

DTE Energy Music Theatre and Meadow Brook Amphitheatre welcome new partners in 2018, including Little Caesars and Diageo. DTE Energy (the parent company of Detroit Edison) is entering its 18th season as the naming rights sponsor of DTE Energy Music Theatre, while other returning partners are Jeep (Jeep Ivy Lounge), United Shore (lawn seating), Anheuser-Busch, Meijer, E&J Gallo and Saint Joseph Mercy Health System.

At Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill, MotorCity Casino Hotel is the new sponsor of the VIP Club space, a pre-event destination for season ticket holders, sponsors and their guests. The DTE Energy Music Theatre box office is open for the summer concert season. The Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill box office will open on Monday, May 21 at Noon and The Meadow Brook Amphitheatre box office will open on Monday, May 29 at 12 p.m. Tickets for all 313 Presents events will be available for purchase at all amphitheatre box offices as well as the Little Caesars Arena XFINITY box office. Tickets are available at these outlets free of any service charges. The amphitheatre box offices will close at the conclusion of the summer concert season.
