(DETROIT – April 27, 2018) – New Day Entertainment presents the “Blues on the Hill” starring Millie Jackson, Sir Charles Jones, Bobby Rush, Lenny Williams, Kenny Lattimore and Theodis Ealey at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill as part of the Fifth Third Bank Concert Series on Saturday, August 11 at 6 p.m.

Tickets ($29 and on the Kroger lawn and $48, $58 and $68 in the Crest Ford pavilion) go on sale Saturday, April 28 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at 313Presents.com, Little Caesars Arena XFINITY box office and Ticketmaster.com. Millie Jackson is a six-time certified GOLD American R&B and soul singer-songwriter. Notorious for her distinct vocal style and rousing stage performances, she is known for her gritty and explicit lyrics. Millie’s musical repertoire includes recorded songs in styles of rhythm & blues, disco, dance and even some country. Her chart toppers include “If Loving You Is Wrong I Don't Wanna Be Right” and “Slow Tongue.”

Sir Charles Jones is an artist who has mastered the collaboration of throwback and modern in his traditional Southern style of R&B. He is a vocalist, songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and self-proclaimed “Undisputed King of Southern Soul.” Sir Charles’ hit releases include “Is There Anybody Lonely” and “Love Machine.”

Bobby Rush a Louisiana native who earned the title “King of the Chitlin’ Circuit” after relocating to Jackson, MS in the early 1980s. His distinctive “folk funk” style makes for an upbeat and often provocative live performance. Blues audiences around the country recognize his songs such as “Big Fat Woman” and “What's Good for the Goose Is Good for the Gander.”

Although Lenny Williams has had a long solo career, he is perhaps best-known for his years as the lead singer of Tower of Power. Williams’ talent was showcased on his LP titled New Episode; in 2002 and he continues to be one of top names in Blues.

Blues Hall of Famer, Kenny Latimore is celebrated as an American Blues and R&B singer, songwriter, and pianist. His hits include “I Get Lifted” and “Sweet Vibrations.”

Theodis Ealey is hailed as a blues singer, guitarist, and bandleader. Blues fans know him by his nickname "The Bluesman Lover," for his brassy R&B love tunes.
