Traffic Advisory: I-75 Closure To Affect Events In The District Detroit This Weekend
SB/NB I-75, McNichols Rd to 7 Mile Rd will be closed June 5 - 8
SB I-75, 12 Mile to 9 Mile will be reduced from five lanes to one lane June 5 - 14
Ticketed events in The District Detroit this weekend include Detroit Tigers vs. Seattle Mariners at Comerica Park all weekend, Forrest Frank “The Jesus Generation Tour” at Little Caesars Arena and Ali Saddiq at the Fox Theatre on Saturday, June 6
(DETROIT – June 4, 2026) – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has advised that this weekend, SB/NB I-75 from McNichols Road to 7 Mile Road will be closed for the demolition of the Savannah/Oakland Avenue bridge over I-75, with traffic detoured to the service drive.
Guests heading to events in The District Detroit are recommended to use the following detours:
- Northbound I-75: Exit at McNichols Road to northbound Chrysler Service Drive, then re-enter I-75 via the 7 Mile ramp
- Southbound I-75: Exit at 7 Mile Road to southbound Chrysler Service Drive, then re-enter I-75 via the McNichols ramp
