Multi-platinum rock band Bush and Chicago-based trio Chevelle bring co-headlining summer tour with Black Map and The Dead Deads to Freedom Hill Amphitheatre on Sunday, July 24 at 6 p.m.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 29 at 10 a.m. at Livenation.com, Palacenet.com, The Palace Ticket Store and all Ticketmaster locations. Tickets may be also charged by phone to American Express, Discover, Visa and MasterCard by calling 800.745.3000.
The tour follows a trio of shows Bush held earlier this week in Florida and is the band’s first run of 2016 following last year’s road show in support of Man on the Run, which began with a performance at KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas as part of a lineup that included System of a Down, Linkin Park and Rise Against. The band (lead vocalist Gavin Rossdale, guitarist Chris Traynor, bassist Corey Britz and drummer Robin Goodridge) also teamed with Shazam, Vevo and VH1 for the video launch of “The Only Way Out,” a song that the band premiered on “The Howard Stern Show.” USA Today had the song’s online premiere, Billboard debuted the album’s title track, Elle premiered “Loneliness Is A Killer.” Those songs all appeared on Man on the Run, which the band recorded with Grammy winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Mastodon, Deftones, Foo Fighters). Bush also teamed with Pandora for a special promotion that saw them give a special acoustic performance for fans who gave them “a thumbs up,” they performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and frontman Gavin Rossdale guest-starred on the 100th episode of Hawaii 5-0.
Man on the Run was the follow-up to 2011’s The Sea of Memories, which was Bush’s first release in 10 years. That album saw them return to the top of the charts in grand style, with lead single “The Sound of Winter” making rock radio history as the first self-released song ever to hit No. 1 at Alternative Rock Radio (where it stayed for six consecutive weeks).
Over the course of their career, Bush has sold close to 20 million records in the U.S. and Canada alone. They’ve also compiled an amazing string of 18 consecutive Top 40 hit singles on the Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts. Eleven of those hit the Top 5, six of which shot to No. 1: “Comedown,” Glycerine,” “Machinehead,” “Swallowed,” “The Chemicals Between Us” and “The Sound of Winter.”
Chevelle opened yet another doorway on their seventh full-length record, 2104’s La Gárgola [Epic Records]. After nearly two decades together, six albums, and countless sold out gigs, the Chicago alternative rock outfit - Pete Loeffler [guitars, vocals], Sam Loeffler [drums] and Dean Bernardini [bass, vocals] – confidently sail through uncharted waters and emerge with a collection that's equally intricate and intimate.
Certainly, it builds upon the group's impressive foundation, including the 2002 platinum-selling genre staple Wonder What's Next and the gold-certified follow-up This Type of Thinking Could Do Us In as well as experimental epic Sci-Fi Crimes and, most recently, 2011's Hats Off To The Bull, which respectively debuted at #9 and #19 on the Billboard Top 200. However, their signature style naturally morphs into a powerful and passionate new beast, otherwise known as La Gárgola – Spanish for "Gargoyle."
