"A Quiet Celebration Tour"
Legendary singer-songwriter Paul Simon announced plans for a U.S. and Canada summer tour as he extends his critically acclaimed A Quiet Celebration Tour, following a highly successful run last year. Inspired by the experience, Simon will perform at some of North America’s most celebrated outdoor venues, including Meadow Brook Amphitheatre on Saturday, June 20 at 8 p.m. Oakland University Credit Union is the exclusive presenting partner of Meadow Brook Amphitheatre.
The evening is presented in two distinct parts. The first half features a complete performance of Simon’s Grammy-nominated 2023 album Seven Psalms, a continuous 33-minute musical work hailed by critics worldwide. Variety called it “quietly stunning… unlike any other Simon album,” while Rock Cellar praised it as “a stunning achievement from an artist with a career full of them.”
After a brief intermission, Simon returns to the stage to perform a curated selection of his most beloved classics alongside deep cuts that span his extraordinary career. Critics have praised the tour as deeply moving and intimate. The Los Angeles Times described the show as “a beautiful benediction for one of America’s defining songwriters,” while Rolling Stone called it “a victory lap for one of the greatest songwriters of the past century.”
