Christian rock bands MercyMe and Third Day with special guests Colton Dixon and Ellie Holcomb will perform at DTE Energy Music Theatre on Saturday, September 13 at 6 p.m.

Since their debut in 2001, American Music Award and multiple Dove Award winners MercyMe have sold over 6.5 million units in CD and DVD sales, garnered 25 #1 multi-format Christian radio singles and four consecutive mainstream radio hits with “I Can Only Imagine,” “Here With Me,” “Homesick” and “So Long Self.” The band’s latest album, Welcome to the New, debuted at # 4 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Christian Albums chart. The album peaked at #3 on the iTunes® Overall Albums Chart and #1 on its Christian Albums Chart, and includes the Top 5 hit single “Shake.”

Third Day has earned four Grammys, 24 GMA Dove Awards, 1 RIAA Platinum album and 8 RIAA Gold albums. Colton Dixon finished seventh in American Idol’s Season 11 in 2012. The 22-year-old singer/songwriter’s debut album, A Messenger, was released on January 29, 2013 and earned him a 2013 DOVE Award for Best Rock/Contemporary Album. His sophomore album, Anchor, is due out August 19.

Ellie Holcomb recorded and released two EPs full of songs based on the Psalms and other scriptures, Magnolia and With You Now. Both EPs hit #1 on the iTunes Christian/Gospel charts. She released her debut studio album, As Sure as the Sun, on February 18, 2014.
