Pine Knob has served as ground zero for the first editions of many traveling festivals that have dotted the concert landscape over the decades – including Lollapalooza, Ozzy Osbourne's OZZFest, H.O.R.D.E., Furthur, the Vans Warped Tour and more. Pine Knob was one of four venues in 1996 where Sarah McLachlan tested her all-female Lilith Fair concept, topping a bill that included Patti Smith and others, while Moby brought his two Area festivals to town, with David Bowie making his only Pine Knob appearance as part of Area2 in 2002.
