The Classics Continued
Eddie Money began playing Pine Knob in 1983, but he's best known for being the theater's season opener from 1992 until his death in 2019. The Money Man played late May dates 27 times, selling much more than two tickets to paradise to help kick off the summer. Some years he even came back for additional shows later in the season. Money had plenty of company in his status as a Pine Knob Regular: Foreigner's 34 performances since 1978 included opening for Kid Rock's record-setting 10-show run in 2015; Santana's logged a smooth 28 dates; Heart and Journey have each played Pine Knob 16 times; and Ringo Starr brought eight of his aptly named All-Starr Bands to the venue since he launched the concept in 1989.
